Kim Marez Slaughter received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1999. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry in May of 2003. She completed one of her internships at Lakeline Vision Source and then joined the practice after graduation. Dr. Slaughter is certified to fit Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT) contact lenses. CRT is a reversible reshaping of the cornea through overnight contact lens wear. During the day, CRT patients can see clearly without the use of glasses or contacts. CRT is an excellent option for nearsighted kids and teenagers that are active participants in sports and water activities.
Dr. Slaughter serves as associate preceptor for the externship rotation through The University of Houston College of Optometry. She coordinates the schedule for the fourth-year optometry students (externs) that rotate through the office.
Dr. Slaughter enjoys spending time with her husband, David, and their two golden retrievers, Zoe and Bob. She enjoys running, cycling, and golf.
